IMPACT ON SOCIETY INDICATING GEOGRAPHICAL AREA YUV A, established in 2012 and headquartered in Panaji, has emerged as a socially committed youth -led organization working across multiple sectors including youth development, women empowerment, healthcare, sports, environment, senior citizen welfare, and cultural preservation. Over the past thirteen years, YUV A has significantly contributed to the social progress of both urban and semi -urban communities, while gradually extending its outreach across the state of Goa. The organization initially focused its efforts in the capital city of Panaji and surrounding areas such as Mala, Taleigao, and St. Cruz, where it addressed civic, environmental, and welfare issues through direct community participation. Projects such as the Mala Lake signature campaign, public wall painting initiatives, revival of local spaces, tree plantation drives, and health camps helped improve urban living conditions while encouraging citizen involvement in community development. YUV A’s healthcare interventions have positively impacted women, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections. Free women’s medical camps, breast cancer screening programs, COVID-19 relief operations, ration distribution, and protective equipment support to healthcare workers during the pandemic demonstrated YUV A’s ability to respond during emergencies. During COVID -19 alone, the organization delivered over 5,000 meals and ration support to more than 100 families in and around Panaji, Taleigao, and St. Cruz. In the area of women empowerment, YUV A has consistently worked toward health awareness, menstrual hygiene, and personal safety. Self-defence workshops for girls, sanitary napkin vending machine installation in schools, and women -centric health initiatives have created awareness while promoting dignity, confidence, and access to better facilities. YUV A has made a notable contribution toward youth and sports development across Goa. Through football tournaments, cricket competitions, badminton championships, kabaddi events, and corporate sports tournaments, the organization has provided platforms for physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition. Students and young professionals from various talukas of Goa have participated in these activities, strengthening inter-community engagement. The organization has also played an important role in education, creativity, and cultural preservation. Statewide competitions such as Balotsav, street play contests, Ramayan drawing competitions, Mahabharat exams, essay writing, art festivals, and school -based programs have benefited children and youth from numerous schools across Goa. These initiatives have encouraged talent, confidence -building, communication skills, and appreciation for Indian culture and local traditions. For senior citizens, YUV A has created meaningful platforms such as Jyeshtha Nagarik Anandotsav and welfare workshops in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare. These initiatives have supported active ageing, mental wellness, digital literacy, financial literacy, and social inclusion of elderly citizens from different parts of Goa. YUV A’s environmental contribution has been equally impactful through repeated tree plantation drives, sapling distribution, cleanliness campaigns, and awareness programs conducted with schools, colleges, and local communities. These programs have helped cultivate environmental responsibility among youth and residents. Geographically, while YUV A’s roots remain in Panaji, its activities have expanded to participants and beneficiaries from North Goa and South Goa districts, including schools, institutions, youth groups, women’s organizations, and senior citizen communities from across the state. Relief campaigns have also extended beyond Goa, including fundraising support for disasters such as the Kerala Floods and Chennai relief efforts. Overall, YUV A has created measurable social impact by transforming local concerns into organized community action. Its model of combining service, awareness, participation, and empowerment has improved the quality of life of thousands of citizens across Goa and established it as a credible grassroots organization committed to inclusive development.
